Advertising Campaign: Pre-Launch
We decided to stick with posters for the pre-launch advertising -- it will be more worth our time (and the department's money) to save the heavy-duty print advertising for when we have "released" the name "Sage" to the campus. In the meantime, we designed posters and met with Deepak last Wednesday to finalize them. Each of us posted them around campus, and we have two large posters hanging in Erdman and on the Activities board in the Campus Center. -- Samara
Advertising Campaign: Post-Launch
Following are our post-launch plans for advertising Sage. Please feel free to contribute additional ideas about how we can get the word out. -- Samara
-
We can draft new posters that advertise the name of Sage and its purpose.
-
We can design a table tent and have it printed and distributed in the dining halls, at the Lusty Cup, and at UnCommon Grounds.
-
We can spend $25 to have an ad printed in the Bi-Co. This is the fee for student clubs, and they print a 1/4 page ad for that price. Liz Lampen, the advertising coordinator, knows we are interested in running an ad and will be sure to leave room for us when we request that space.
-
We can run an ad in the College News.
-
We can advertise on the Haverford Radio Station.
-
We can have the launch info written on the Conferences & Events board in the Campus Center lobby.
-
We can send out a mass e-mail on Wed., October 2 (that should be received by everyone by Friday) regarding the launch.
-
We can ask Ashley about posting info about Sage on the Daily Jolt.
Planning stage: Print advertising ideas
Do we have money to make signs or whatever? I think we should advertise by leaving those card things in the dining halls. Everyone reads those. If we don't have money, we should probably fundraise really realy soon.--Karen
Karen: We don't have money to do this, but we do have the resources...:-) Talk to me and I'll help you get it done. --Deepak.
Print advertising possibilities: These will require some funds for Copy Center use. --Samara
-
Table tents (for dining halls, Lusty Cup, UnCommon Grounds)
-
Posters (for dorms, academic buildings, dining halls, Gateway, Guild, Campus Center, Gym, Libararies, etc.)
-
Fliers/strips of paper to stuff mailboxes close to the launch date
-
Publicity in publications on campus: Bi-Co News & the college news Would it be possible to ask BICO News to give us a 3x3-inch corner on two or three of their pages for the next 3-6 weeks? We could run a series of ads, initially just with a logo (no web address and no other info), and then slowly, each week, add a little hint until finally in the launch week, we use the space to put the web address in it? That is an excellent idea. We can contact someone from Bi-Co about this. Either Aminah can bring it up at next Monday night's meeting, or we can go ahead and e-mail Elizabeth Lampen. Also, I can be sure to put ads in the College News. Our next issue will be coming out the day before the Launch, so it's perfect timing for that last-minute reminder before the big day. --Samara
Planning stage: Advertising via media ideas
We would not need to budget for these forms of advertising. --Samara-
Ad on the Haverford Radio Station
-
A mass "activities" e-mail to all undergrads, faculty, and staff close to the launch date
-
Perhaps we could have Conferences & Events list the launch of Sage on the daily activities board located in the Campus Center (if we can pin down an exact time to have the site completed).
-
It would be fairly straightforward to put the launch on the new college calendar page web site. Which calendar page website? -- Samara
-
Dont forget the Bryn Mawr Daily Jolt!
