Beyond Legos Log
May 28, Met at Bryn Mawr to discuss summer duties and to review how the use of Pyro worked in our spring courses at Bryn Mawr, Swarthmore and UMass Lowell.
Goals for the summer:
-
Overhaul current Pyro modules, break up pages into more sub-pages and move python code into separate files so that it can be syntax formatted
-
Create an index into all Pyro modules
-
Review all Pyro examples to ensure that they are still operational
-
Add citations to related work where appropriate in Pyro modules
-
Complete additional Pyro modules
-
Focus on Player/Stage as the primary simulator to use in combination with Pyro
-
Phase out Khepera simulator and Aria simulator from all Pyro examples
-
Hold a workshop for pilot schools planning on using Pyro
-
Convert Pyro wiki pages into permanent web pages
-
Freeze Pyro code and modules prior to workshop
-
Develop guidelines for possible trajectories through Pyro modules, for example a course could focus on learning, traditional robotics, hardware, or simulation
