Project name: Greeted by the Future: Tour Guide Robot
Abstract: The goal of this project is to program our B21R robot from iRobot, Elektro, to act as a tour guide of the building that houses the Computer Science department at Bryn Mawr College. We will integrate several techniques and algorithms that will allow the robot to give tours and directions to any area in the building with use of laser sensors, sonar sensors, and camera. Some of the robot’s algorithms and techniques will include user interaction, collision avoidance, mapping, localization, task planning, and path planning. The robot, besides being mobile, will interact with people using voice generation and recognition and computer vision.
