"Symphony"

She played the violin,
And the strings of the bow
Played a tune
On the strings of my heart.
Such sweet and painful notes
I had never heard;
They were like rain pouring down,
While the sun shone brightly overhead.
If those notes be for anyone else,
My tears, in a fury,
Shall beat the ground.
But if they be for me,
My life?s song has been sung
(That sweet serenade.)
She played the violin;
Those soft sounds
Still please my ear.

"Good Night Moon"

Good night moon and good night stars, and good night
To all heavenly bodies as you float
Through the nocturnal sky. And as you coat
The curtain of the night, your quiet might
Lends the night a calm stillness. Were my sight
To extend farther, it would be to dote
On the purity of your light, that note
Of clear music whose sound touches the night?s
Edges. As you glide through the evening, you
Leave in your wake the memory of your
Sparkle, and it is with this gift that you
Impart a deep serenity; the more
I remember your simple joy I see
That sweet is the time that was spent as ?we?.
