Subject: [Pyro-developers] Running Gazebo using Pyrobot/Knoppix

hi,
 
 I am a researcher in Fraunhofer Institute, Bonn and am new to Pyrobot. I wish to run Gazebo using it and followed the following procedure:
 
 I selected PlayerServer as server and then mentioned gazebo.cfg as the config file. doing this invokes the following error :

 Using PYROBOT in '/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/pyrobot'...

 Parsing configuration file "/UNIONFS/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/pyrobot/plugins/configs/Player/gazebo.cfg"
 error   : unable to instantiate Gazebo driver; did you forget the -g option?
 error   : Initialization failed for driver "gz_sim"
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 
 Further, when I choose any other config file like kephera.cfg I get an error that the config file doesnt exist (though it is existing). Thus, I am in a delimma what could be the problem as all other simulators are working (pyrobot, stage, etc).
 
 Please help me with this...

Hello,

I'm not sure where you got those instructions, but here is the correct
way to run Gazebo from Pyro version 4.8.1 and above:

1) Start pyrobot
2) Select server "GazeboSimulator"
3) Select world "Pioneer2dx.world"
4) Select robot "PlayerRobot6665"

If that doesn't work try:

wxgazebo /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/pyrobot/plugins/worlds/Gazebo/pioneer2dx.world

If that doesn't work try:

gazebo /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/pyrobot/plugins/worlds/Gazebo/pioneer2dx.world
