I just downloaded the new LiveCD and I couldn't wait to try out the new 
reinforcement learning program, but when I loaded it up and typed 'pyrobot' 
it reported that it was version 4.1.0. The PyrobotSimulator wasn't there, 
and though the SymbolicSimulator was, it wouldn't load (just saying 
'failed!'). Is there another pyrobot binary that I'm missing?

In the most recent version of the Live CD (4.2.2), when I connect to an Aibo 
and try to use the setPose method, I get an odd error.

Subject: [Pyro-users] Making custom robot drivers

Hi,

I am using Pyro 3.6.1 and was checking out the file
pyro/robot/khepera.py and so have a few questions
about it.

I so far managed to understand how it retrieves its
sensor readings using a serial connection but dont
know where or how PyRo gets notified. The function
readData() retrieves the sensor readings and then
stores it in the array 'senseData' in line 357
('senseData' is 'rawData' in the later versions of
khepera.py). But then what does 'senseData' do with
the readings? My question is how does PyRo know that
'senseData' has the latest sensor readings? 

I know the above description is a bit vague. Feel free
to ask for clarification purposes.

Please instruct me what I need to do or what I need to
look up. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanx

(Looking to reacquaint myself with Pyro, after several years 
hiatus--hoping that now that I finally have a need for robot/simulation 
software, Pyro4 will do what I need.)

The installation instructions on the webpage don't actually say how to 
install Pyro.  I'm installing from source, because I've already got all 
the prerequisites, and because I don't have root access.  (I've never 
had much success trying to use RPM without root access.)  Are the 
instructions the same as for Pyro3?

I'm working with some Aibos up at Bowdoin College and I was wondering 
if anyone knew the location of the RAVQ implementation that used to sit 
on the Bryn Mawr servers 
(http://bubo.brynmawr.edu/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/pyrobot/brain/ravq.py and 
http://pyrorobotics.org/pyro/?page=pyro.brain.ravq I believe).

Does anyone have the location of any RAVQ implementation in any 
language? I'd just like to have one to look at and I can't find this 
one online anymore. Thanks a lot!

Hello, I'm a beginner at Pyro.  I need to set the absolute position of the
robot inside the stage simulator at the start.  However I'm having trouble
doing it.

in the world:

Hi,

after doing "yum update" my pyrobot has been updated from 4.0.2 to 4.3.0. 
Afterwards the /usr/bin/pyrobot link pointing to dblank's own individual 
version:
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 32 20. Aug 16:41 /usr/bin/pyrobot 
-> /home/dblank/pyrobot/bin/pyrobot

My pyrobot executable, however, resides 
in /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/pyrobot/bin/pyrobot

I am planning to incorporate PYRO into my AI course in Fall '06 and am 
looking for funding to purchase some robotic hardware.  Unfortunately, 
with this year's change in the NSF CCLI A&I funding cycle applying next 
May wouldn't provide the $$ in time for a Fall class. Has anyone here 
had any success applying to other funding agencies to obtain support 
for this type of course development project?

Pyro users,

There are now two new Pyro-related mailing lists for your use:

pyro-system   For system administrators installing Pyro
pyro-outreach For people interested in using Pyro outside of CS
               cirrculum.

The first, pyro-system, is intended for us or our sysadmins to help each 
other in the technical details in installing Player/Stage, Pyro, and 
related programs. If you use a yum-based Linux system, installation is 
easy. However, not everyone is running such a system. For example, 
Debian is used widely, so hopefully those who are successful at 
installing can give helpful hints. Likewise for Windows and Mac OSX now 
that Pyro runs there as well.

The second, pyro-outreach, is meant for those interested in expanding 
the reach of Pyro (or related projects). For example, there may be 
people interested in using Pyro for K-12, or for other projects (such as 
Art projects).
